Mixvibes Remixlive 5 is alive. Well almost.

Mixvibes‘ march towards the production realm started with Remixlive. It made its mark firstly in the performer zone and allowed for samples to be played and packs to be purchased. In the last version, those samples could be edited, and now in the fresh V5 for iOS and Android, those samples can now be sequenced.

As ever, the good people at Mixvibes have prepared some words:

Loop sequences, create beats

Create your own rhythmic and melodic sequences with Remixlive’s new step sequencer

Remixlive is a unique app in the mobile space that offers a lot of creative possibilities, coupled with an intuitive interface optimized for live performance. Committed to the idea of offering our users the most complete music performance and creation tool, we are adding a step sequencer in this new version of the app.

The use of music apps on mobile devices has been growing significantly over the past few years, and as such we have added many features in the years since our first version such as finger drumming, advanced loop launching and now a step sequencer…

The decision to add a step sequencer became obvious after listening to feedback from our users. This new feature allows us to offer everyone the possibility to create their own patterns, making more complex music and stepping up their game by evolving their style.

Thanks to the seamless syncing of loops and sequences, there is no need to worry about clashing rhythms and melodies: everything will be synced to the beat. Just like you already can with loops, you can also transfer your sequences between the different packs.

Remixlive 5 is free to download, and available with in-app purchases of packs and features. We also offer the possibility of a subscription, which unlocks all packs and features for $9.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly. Remixlive 5 will be available for download in September 2019.

It just gets better

I’ll be honest — as development of Cross (Mixvibes’ DJ software) slowed down, Remixlive always felt like an attempt to find something to keep the lights on at Mixvibes HQ. But it’s not an attempt anymore — Remixlive continues to develop into a serious piece of software that offers genuine value to the scene.

The sample sequencer allows Remixlive to leap from performance only app and start to encroach into producer territory. It’s anyone’s guess how far it can go but the measured approach being taken right now is wise. It’s all too easy to lob features in to make it attractive to buyers. But with the subscription model being used, there has to be a regular and meaningful to justify the constant forking out of cash. And given the stage Remixlive is at, I can see there being many useful additions coming for a long time to come.

Remixlive 5 will be available sometime in September (hence the “almost” in the headline). It’s a free download for iOS and Android, with in-app purchases of packs. And there’s a monthly ($9.99) and annual ($49.99) subscription deal too.
