The very late post NAMM new Denon DJ Prime first look article
It's time to mop up some long overdue articles. So here are my first impressions of the new (well they were then) Denon DJ Prime range including the Prime GO.

It's time to mop up some long overdue articles. So here are my first impressions of the new (well they were then) Denon DJ Prime range including the Prime GO.

Any distance that Denon DJ can put between themselves and v1 of Engine Prime is good. It's now at v1.5, and is taking giants steps away from that first release.

That's a big old pile of pre-production Prime right there in the Worxlab. They're mine for a just few days, so get your questions in.

Denon DJ has essentially released a family of DJ gear at NAMM 2020, topped off with the entirely unexpected battery powered Prime Go.

It's been three years to the day since the Denon Prime name hit the scene. Now the SC6000, SC6000M, and X1850 Prime are announced. And it's worth the wait.

A fire sale combined with an ADE based tease from Laidback Luke means that Denon DJ is up to something. And it looks media player shaped.

It's been promised to the point where I stopped asking. But the Serato DJ Pro update for the Denon DJ SC5000M Prime is out, and for Prime 4 too.

Denon DJ announces standalone streaming in the Prime 4 and for the SC5000 Primes. That's some keeping the cat in the bag futureproofing right there.

My prayers have been answered, and Denon DJ has made a motorised version of the SC5000 Prime player, logically called the SC5000M Prime.

Denon DJ's intentions become clearer with each release. The bold #changeyourrider attack on Pioneer DJ's territory just got real with the announcement of Timecode, a StagelinQ powered plug that offers a view into the booth by stage techs, or outright control of lighting and effects in a venue.

What do you do when you are lent some bleeding edge DJ gear for a weekend? Rinse some techno at a filthy rave, of course. Dan took the SC5000 Prime players and matching X1800 Prime mixer out for a play, and this is how it went.

If you're wanting to mount an attack on the hearts, minds, and wallets of club DJs, you need a compelling product to break the hold of Pioneer DJ. And the beating heart of Denon DJ's Prime system is the X1800 Prime mixer. We played in and out of the Worxlab to see if it's a worthy competitor to the established models.
