Serato Update 1: Serato Video v1.1 public beta

Serato Video public beta v1.1

After the recent and most welcome news that Scratch Live and MixEmergency are playing nice with other again, Serato have released a public beta of their own Serato Video plugin. Not too much report in this one – it’s more about how it interacts with SSL and ITCH in this release.

The words from New Zealand:

Serato Video 1.1.0 additions and fixes

* New ‘Spin’ transition.

* Fixed the smudge transition so that it doesn’t draw artifacts over the clear space when media treatment is set to preserve.

* Fixed the melt shader so that it doesn’t stretch videos when transitioning between a 4:3 and a 16:9 video when media treatment is set to preserve.

* Fixed the swap transition so that for all media treatment settings, a full left or right cross fader will not show the opposing video.

DOWNLOAD LINK UPDATE

To get access to the beta, you’ll need to be a member of the Serato forum, and sign up to the ITCH beta here, or Scratch Live beta here. No signup, no access, hence the previous “access denied” messages.

So if you feel like throwing caution to the wind and being a guinea pig for Serato, go give the beta version a go. I think I’m more looking forward to v2 than anything else.
