It might only be an incremental update, but the list of freshly supported and updated hardware in Serato DJ 1.7.7 is epic. And let’s not forget lil ole Serato DJ Intro, because she gives out some love for new hardware too.
Here’s the seriously long list of stuff that Serato DJ and DJ Intro offers:
SERATO DJ 1.7.7 UPDATE IS OUT NOW
Serato has released Serato DJ 1.7.7, a free update that includes important stability improvements for all users, official support for the Rane MP2015, Numark NS7III, Denon DJ MC4000 and Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2; as well as support for NS7II screen displays, and DVS for NS7II / NS7III users with the DVS Expansion Pack.
Serato DJ Intro 1.2.6 is also released, which supports the Denon DJ MC4000 and Pioneer DJ DDJ-SB2 out of the box as a free download.
Serato CEO, AJ Bertenshaw says: “We know how much DJs value stability and performance. As well as continuing to add to our list of supported hardware choices in this update, we’ve worked hard on stability improvements in response to feedback from the Serato DJ community.
Adding support for the Rane MP2015 is something we’ve seen interest in from many DJs who value sound quality, classic design and the feel of rotary hardware. We’re excited to be able to offer support for this high end piece.
For Numark DJs, the NS7III is the second Serato DJ controller to have inbuilt screens for a uniquely integrated hardware/software experience. NS7II customers aren’t left in the cold either, with the option to add screens as well as added DVS upgrade support in this release.
For controller DJs, the all new Pioneer DDJ-SB2 is a great update to Pioneer DJ’s popular all-in-one beginner piece, and the Denon DJ MC4000 also offers another solid option for both beginners and pro’s alike.”
As well as support for new hardware, Serato has added a number of important bug fixes and optimisations to the platform. This is a recommended update for all users.

Yes it’s great that all this hardware is getting Serato love, but by far the biggest news is that the Rane MP2015 is now Serato DJ compatible via the DVS expansion pack. Now it would be odd if a Rane mixer wasn’t supported by Serato, but to the best of my knowledge this is the first time a Rane mixer has been officially supported by both Traktor and Serato DJ. Our esteemed community has reminded me that this isn’t the first time for others though, as Pioneer DJM900NXS and DJM-850 got DVS support for both too.
