Reloop goes lifestyle: The RHP-6 headphones

Reloop RHP-6 lifestyle DJ headphones

Like it or not, the digital age means that DJing is for everyone. And some people care more for style than function, hence more image conscious headphones are coming to the market with increasing regularity. And Reloop is quite happy to grab themselves a slice of the market with their new RHP-6 headphones.

Clearly positioned in the Urban Ears sector, the RHP-6 come in a fashion-frendly set of colours. There is the obviously essential orange (ahem), but for some reason not red, a decision that I don’t understand given the dominance of the colour in the DJ world and Reloop’s own brand ID. Anyhow, here’s the PR:

Henley Pro are happy to announce the release of Reloop’s new lifestyle headphones, the RHP-6. Inspired by Reloop’s extensive development in the DJ equipment field, these new headphones are more than just a DJ fashion statement; thanks to their outstanding sound characteristics and focus on wearing comfort, the RHP-6 are a great portable headphone for anyone who takes their sound seriously.

The RHP-6’s produce an amazingly powerful and transparent sound, offering the highest possible listening pleasure without any discomfort. They are a perfect example of what affordable lifestyle headphones can sound like: deep bass, a harmonious mid-range and clear resolution result in a balanced acoustic sound which will make your head nod.

As well as offering musical enjoyment, the RHP-6 also fit like a second skin. The elastic nylon brackets are supported with a sturdy aluminium bar that offers stability and the overall lightweight design means long journeys or extended listening sessions remain comfortable. Also, thanks to their foldable construction, when you arrive at your destination the RHP-6 can be easily and safely packed away.

Nothing is more fun than listening to music with a friend, and thanks to their innovative music sharing function the RHP-6 offer the possibility to connect a second pair of headphones in-line, allowing someone else to check out your playlist when you’re out and about. For added convenience, the RHP-6 employs a Smartphone remote control with built-in microphone, so you remain in touch while you escape into your music.

With a brand new design and construction, the RHP-6 headphones are a true eye-catcher. The rubberised ear cups, rubber paint finish, sturdy textile cable and durable headband combine to make a real fashion statement. For this reason, the RHP-6 is available in seven different colour finishes – to match your style perfectly.

Obviously, Reloop is going to say that the RHP-6s are awesome at looking cool and sounding great, but time will tell on that front. The black ones in particular look cool, and have the V-MODA-esque Kevlar style cables that I’ve come to love. I’m reserving judgement until I’ve played with them though, probably at BPM 2013.

One last thing — there’s a video. It’s barely DJ, and very much full of trendy young things doing trendy young things.
