Beatport LINK and Soundcloud GO+ comes to rekordbox

Using the increasingly redundant metaphor of without wanting to sound like a broken record, streaming is here. And there. And bloody everywhere. Tidal came to the Denon DJ Prime 4 last week, and this week sees Soundcloud GO+ and Beatport LINK make its way in Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox 5.6.1. Come on Pioneer DJ people — that deserves a v5.7 release at least.

How many streaming services?

I can’t keep up. I’m losing track of what streaming service works with which software. I know algoriddim’s djay works with Spotify, because I do their videos. And it’s the one that’s always mentioned in a moany “why can’t my choice of software that isn’t djay work with Spotify?”… probably like this release to be honest.

Serato and Denon have Tidal but not Beatport LINK, and rekordbox doesn’t have Tidal, but does have Link. Something works with Deezer, and everything including Photoshop and my cooker work with Soundcloud Go+? Did I get it right?

I does make you wonder how much you’d have to pay in subscriptions just to keep up with it all, and indeed if being part of them all offers any tangible benefit. Does the top 40 exist on all of them?
