Trade shows have a habit of delivering promises of far-off technologies. But Reloop has brought a smile to my face this morning by showing and delivering in a matter of weeks, as the Ableton Live-centric Reloop Keypad and Keyfadr are in shops as of today.
When I say today, it all depends on distribution, and I’ve yet to find it listed on a retailer’s site. I’m sure that’ll be fixed soon though. They were probably as surprised as I was with the speed of which this hit the streets.
It’s nice to touch one in the flesh at BPM, but there’s nothing quite like pawing one in the privacy of my own space. And the Keypad arrived this morning, and in isolation with more than a few minutes of play, the Reloop Keypad is feature packed and impressive for the price. Speaking of which, the Reloop Keypad retails at £145 and the Keyfadr is £115. No word on dollar or Euro pricing just yet — Reloop always seems to leave that info out of press releases, but it’s pretty important stuff to include.
