Seems that this week is dedicated to faders in boxes. Firstly it was an update on RhYmEs’ Faderbox v3, and now it’s an impressive Frisk Fader session from DJ RelyT. For those of you who don’t recall, the Frisk Fader set our traffic on fire (and still does) with its minimal “fader squeezed into an impossibly small box” design.
Taking a Frisk Fader, a Vestax Handy Trax, and a copy of the Skratchy Seal 7″ (that I really need to get), RelyT shows what this portable scratching lark is all about. Yes there are other demoes, but this one really appealed to me. One day, one of the companies that I know has one of these portable all-in-one scratch thingies in development will throw good business sense to the wind, and finally damned well make one. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

The more videos i see, the more i want this fader. Someone in the UK, please get hold of some
I ordered one from the Japanese website and it came no problem. Took a while though as it seems they’re built to match incoming orders. Google translate did a fine job of making sense of the site.
Thanks Heartyparty, i will try and google translate, how is it?
It’s good fun. Not an innofader but good for a play mini rig. Mine sounds a bit crackly just now. …. may need to clean the contacts but it is only really noticeable when playing it through headphones, speakers seem fine.
I spent some time talking with innofader. it would not be very hard to make one with an innofader if you are handy with a soldering iron.
Do it yourself… it is a passive thing focused on line levels. Wiring and dremel, nothing else. :)
I had my frisk fader since last year but had it tucked away in my closet and forgot about it….until now lol. I will definitely give this a try, just need to buy me a handy trax and some cables.
