cmdr – Traktor controller manager for Windows

cmdr-traktor-controller-editor-overview

Traktor Pro 2 may be a great bit of DJing software, with loads of flexibility and solid hardware, but even the hardest of hardcore fan would be fooling themselves if they said the built in controller manager wasn’t a right old mess. This is a sentiment that one enterprising coder echoes, and decided to do something about. Windows app cmdr is a from-the-ground-up rethink of Traktor TSI editing, aimed at making it easier to do.

Thanks to Freshfluke for the heads-up about cmdr!

My thoughts

Something, something, something, Traktor Pro 3.

To be honest, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for someone to build an app like this. I’m by no means a Traktor mapping expert, but even it get a little bit of sick in my mouth when I have to delve into my MIDI mappings. If this little bit of software makes it easier for people to tweak their controllers, then it’s all good. Perhaps Native Instruments should keep an eye on this project for some tips?

Your thoughts

Does cmdr look useful to you? Have you got any other cool DJ apps to share with the class?

If you’re using Windows, you can download cmdr from the project page over on CodePlex.
