Fancy going up against your fellow DJ at the BPM Show 2017? Are your DJ skills strong enough to take out fools who dare step to you? Well lucky for you that Gemini is once again sponsoring the Freestyle DJ Comp at this year’s show.
In a nutshell, you submit a five minute video (any genre you like) now which will sit online until 4th October, and after an online vote the most popular eight will get the chance to go through to the live finals on Sunday 22nd October. Here’s the full detail:

BPM | PRO has announced the return of its Freestyle DJ Competition, the live heats and final of which will take place on-stage at BPM | PRO 2017. The contest, sponsored by Gemini, is designed to discover the most-talented freestyle DJ of the year and reward them with a huge £1200 prize bundle, courtesy of Gemini.
Now open for entries, the Freestyle DJ Competition will run for 2 weeks until Monday 4 October. This year, organisers are asking for five-minute video applications only and all genres and styles are accepted. All entries will be displayed in an online video gallery, where the public can vote for the best.

Videos will be ranked by the number of public votes, with the top eight DJs progressing through to the live heats at BPM | PRO 2017. So, DJs are advised to spread the word on social media and get their fans voting for them.
The competition’s live heats will take place at 11.45am and 1.45pm on Sun 22 October, with the finals kicking off later that day at 4.15pm. Two DJs from each live heat will battle it out in the final, with the winner chosen by an industry panel. The 2017 Freestyle DJ Champion will then be announced live on-stage and presented with their Gemini prize bundle.

“The Freestyle DJ competition is a huge event each and every year, and a big part of the BPM | PRO experience,” explained Show Director Lindsay Gouldthorpe. “Many of our previous winners have gone on to perform at renowned venues and events across the globe – so it really is a chance for upcoming DJs to get themselves out there! This year, we have Gemini sponsoring, so the winner will also take home a huge prize bundle of DJ gear.”
As well as hosting the Freestyle DJ Competition, the epic CHAUVET DJ Arena will showcase a wide range of DJs and performers, including Leftwing & Kody, Jordan Suckley, Tuff London, Joshua and this year’s headliner, DJ Jazzy Jeff.
