SHOCKING VIDEO: JFB and Mr Switch abuse Rane gear

You'd think that having the motherload of Rane DJ gear in front of them, JFB and Mr Switch would show some respect. But they just don't care.

Shocking footage have been captured showing DJs mercilessly abusing next generation DJ equipment in the name of entertainment. DMC world champions JFB and Mr Switch decided that just standing in front of the Rane Twelve and Seventy Two playing tracks wasn’t enough for them, and instead chose to use and abuse the equipment in ways that they were not designed for.

SHOCKING VIDEO: JFB and Mr Switch abuse Rane gear

I doubt that “can you scratch with your foot?” or “what about with the face?” were primary considerations when the good people at Rane were coming up with this particular flavour of envelope-pushing nextlevelness. I’m sure that other DJs would have shown greater respect for this gear. I’m disappointed guys — very disappointed indeed.

Didn’t you have any Despatico? Jeez.

  1. This only contribute to grow my feeling about outdated product.
It will made more sense a mini X2 with solid state hd/pendrive since “trend” is portablism and die hards use vinyl for scratching.
Even it could have more sales on other users (wedding or mobile djs). I l know Djs will going to buy it due to being Rane and 12” but it makes me feel more than bored, tired.

    Stagnation is for real…

    • I hope they get paid a heap of cash – They deserve it. We however didn’t get a penny. In 15 years, we’ve never been paid to post content. What makes you think that we would? I just posted it because I thought our community would like to see it.

          • Yep, DJWORX has a close relationship with major DJ manufacturers, but I’d say in a positive way (e.g. for getting review units and spreading industry related news very quickly). I always felt that reviews were unbiased and honest. And marketing campaigns are not just posted, but commented on (I learned the word hyperbole in that context, which says a lot!)

            • I know what would they prefer, people like Mark having no connection at all to the manufacturers so we don’t find anything out. I know which i prefer.

I like Serato but by the logic above if i write a blog about how good it is i must be getting paid to do so.

              • We’ve kicked around ideas about how to fully sever links to the industry — a few times in fact, when industry events and politics have pushed us to the edge of a permanently air gapped site. But then we’d be cut off from PR, review gear, and insight into the future. Ads would stop, essentially killing our revenue stream stone dead. And honestly, there’s a bunch of truly good people out there who we love working with.

We can however still remain connected to the industry and the benefits thereof, but not their ad revenue. You lot however would have to subscribe or crowdfund us. Being so niche i.e we don’t sell anything and only cover DJ gear (it’s our happy place), I’m not convinced that sufficient numbers would fork out a few quid every month for our coverage. People are moaning about getting 15 years of free content and the best prize giveaways in the industry. Imagine what would happen if we starting charging. I’ve had abuse for asking for email addresses, and daring to ask for a social media click so that people had the chance of winning thousands worth of gear before now. Clearly I ask too much.

So being severed from the industry without revenue would mean the end of DJWORX. Thus working with, rather than against a small industry benefits everyone. If there’s a few people who mistakenly believe that we’re shills or operate on a pay to play basis, then so be it. Other DJ related websites are available.

                • Well said Mark, to be honest a lot of the reps i see on youtube etc seem pretty genuine people so why would it not make sense to have a working relationship with them.

    • they probably gave the equipment for promotional purpose.

who ever wants to buy those overpriced controllers obviously doesn’t know what to do with their money.. if already own a pair of techs
