Kontrol S Keyboards Komplement Komplete

We've followed the development of NI's Traktor Kontrol series of DJ controllers from the start. We've also witnessed the birth of Maschine and the whole line of beatmaking hardware and software. And now, to coincide with the announcement of Komplete 10 comes the Kontrol S keyboards - three models designed to complete the Traktor/Maschine/Komplete trinity, meaning that as a DJ, producer, or electronic musician, NI has you... ummm... kovered.

Komplete 10 – more Komplete than ever

Native Instruments announce Komplete 10 Komplete 10 and Komplete Ultimate 10, a most epic collection of pretty much everything you could need to make sound of any sort. Ultimate 10 is indeed so vast that it comes on a hard drive all of its own.

I went to London, saw cool stuff, including this Komplete thing but in sharp focus. And soon enough you will too. For now, frame by frame the video and see what you can make out.

Traktor DJ 1.5 – SuperSlicer and beyond

Native Instruments has released Traktor DJ 1.5. It's not a big upgrade to the core software, but via the new in-app purchase model, you can now buy cool new features, the first of which is SuperSlicer. Imagine a slice broken into three layers, and being able to apply an effect to each. That's SuperSlicer.

A brief excursion to London for a visit to Native Instruments UK new offices (lots of windows, wood and bare brick - lovely) gave me a insight into their roadmap, and their new #futureofdjing hashtag was a key part of the presentations. Duck Sauce control vinyl = Quacktor Scratch

Traktor time code special editions are scarce. But when they do turn up, they're usually pretty special and done in conjunction with DJ A-listers. In this case, Duck Sauce's new "Radio Stereo" single is coming on on orange vinyl via Thud Rumble. Only 1000 copies will be made so expect it to sell out quickly. Or Quackly. Sorry - it's a puntastic story.
