Denon DJ MC2000 — now plays nice with Traktor and VDJ

The Denon DJ MC2000 now spreads its wings and plays nice with other software. Traktor and Virtual DJ get some love.

Just because a controller works well with one piece of software, it doesn’t mean it excludes others. And that’s the case with Denon DJ’s lovely little MC2000 controller. It comes fully loaded with Serato’s DJ Intro software, but Virtual DJ and Traktor now takes the diminutive controller under their respective wings.

For Virtual DJ, it’s as easy as updating to the new v7.2 – and you get coloured waveforms too for your trouble too. For Traktor Pro, download the TSI file and instructions and you’re on your way. That’s it – no long winded padding out of of a story for the sake of it. If you were reluctant to try out an MC2000 because it wasn’t Traktor or Virtual DJ, you now have the choice of the big 3.

  1. To bad Serato DJ cost almost as much as the Controller.

    1. Are the 4 Hot Cue buttons rubber or cheap plastic? What about the Cue and Play buttons?

    2. What about the Audio Level for the Headphones and Master Out? Is it loud enough or do we have another Novation Twitch.

    3. Can the faders be upgraded to something like a Mini Innofader?

If it’s anything like my SC2000, it’s a must buy for a quick mobile setup.

    • Hey JJ, all is well and Sandy is gone !

      3. I dont think so, nor think anyone would. Target customer is those who cant afford a $799~$999 controller, but still want a high quality build.

    • It’s called Disqus for a reason. All MIDI controllers work with VDJ and Traktor so nothing new. Just links to a custom TSI and update to VDJ 7.2 to get support. When you see DenonDJ responding, you know Silvio has got some answers. Except he is on the run from Hurricane Sandy. Hope everything is well. Mark might even ask and get some answers for a later review.

  2. i need the mapping for my mc 2000 for traktor 2.5 and nothing deems to be working i jus dropped alot of guap on this machine and then getting it started up is such a hassle plz help

  3. Hello I have a Denon MC2000 – i can use it with Virtual Dj 7-2, however it is not very handy for the effects and it has to be selected via the software. Would traktor be more handy? Also I don’t know why I can’t succeed to make the headphones work which is quite a big problem. Any suggestion? Thanks !
