Traktor Pro 2 may be a great bit of DJing software, with loads of flexibility and solid hardware, but even the hardest of hardcore fan would be fooling themselves if they said the built in controller manager wasn’t a right old mess. This is a sentiment that one enterprising coder echoes, and decided to do something about. Windows app cmdr is a from-the-ground-up rethink of Traktor TSI editing, aimed at making it easier to do.
Thanks to Freshfluke for the heads-up about cmdr!
My thoughts
Something, something, something, Traktor Pro 3.
To be honest, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for someone to build an app like this. I’m by no means a Traktor mapping expert, but even it get a little bit of sick in my mouth when I have to delve into my MIDI mappings. If this little bit of software makes it easier for people to tweak their controllers, then it’s all good. Perhaps Native Instruments should keep an eye on this project for some tips?
Your thoughts
Does cmdr look useful to you? Have you got any other cool DJ apps to share with the class?
If you’re using Windows, you can download cmdr from the project page over on CodePlex.
Reiner, this is a feature request so i can’t add it to the codeplex repository.
FIND (f3).
I have many maps that i can’t fully remember what i did and how, so a search button would be brilliant.
thanks
I recall actually purchasing a midi mapping app for Traktor called ‘extreme mapping’. What does this offer that extreme doesn’t or rather… what’s the diffs?
It is Windows. Extreme Mapping was Mac only!
Lol, how the hell did I miss that!! Thanks for clarifying.
I never had any issues with OEM TSP2 mapping, in fact it’s a doddle…???
Does Xtreme Mapping for MAC work with Traktor 2.10+? The latest reviewer on Jun 23, 2015 said the app was incompatible with Traktor Pro v. 2.8.x. Never-mind, just saw it supports up to 2.6.8. Why sell it if it’s out of date?
I may have to pull up Parallels for some Windows Only cmdr.
The XTREMe Mapping for Windows! Great project, would be contributing to it.
