Atomix Power Room #4 — VirtualDJ hits Atlanta

Atomix has been out on the road in the USA again, this time stopping by Atlanta's DJ Jaycee who gives VirtualDJ's DVS a good testing.

Just a quickie as you already know about VDJ’s tour around the US. This time DJ Jaycee tests out VirtualDJ’s DVS ability at the Scratch DJ Academy in Atlanta.

So far, all the DJs who have performed in this series have got behind VDJ’s new DVS engine, which is testament to just how far it has come along in the last year. And combined with their quest to make it work with everything, VDJ is shaking off the past.

  1. What sort of chump wears glasses with no lenses,
I might have to start rocking a white cane and start a new fad,
no one could see that trend coming

  2. Without Virtual Box not making hardware I still fail to see the point of it. Why would anyone who already has license to use SDJ/SL with their 57/61/62/64/68/SL1/SL2/SL3/SL4 chose to pay for Virtual DJ?

I have a Z2 and as well as Virtual Box DVS might work I can’t understand why I would pay to use it because my Z2 came with a Traktor Scratch Pro license.

Anyone know any DJ with Virtual DJ 8 DVS who didn’t receive it for free?

    • Have to nitpick a little here… As Virtual’s DVS is not a paid upgrade and is included for free with your licence, to answer your question, every single owner of Virtual got it for free. :-)

As for who might want it in the future – someone looking to use DVS who doesn’t have any of the equipment you just listed… There are a lot of options out there if your software isn’t locked to certain branded hardware.

      • I just dowloaded Virtual DJ and plugged in my Z2. If I want to use it for only 10 minutes it’s free. If I want it permanently unlocked then I have to pay.

So, again. I get that you can use it with mixer’s that have soundcards but most of them are covered by the Serato Clubit or Traktor.

        • I didn’t say it was free for everyone. Of course you have to pay — because you don’t own Virtual DJ. But your question was “Anyone know any DJ with Virtual DJ 8 DVS who didn’t receive it for free?” and I pointed out that every single OWNER of Virtual DJ gets DVS for free.

  3. I have Traktor, SDJ, SDJ Intro, and VDJ8. VDJ8 is the software I use 100% of the time. I never use Traktor anymore and the only time I’ll use Serato is when other folks are spinning on my set.

  4. It’s a hip-hop thing. The shades with no lense. Back in the day they would get some Giselle shades and Pop the lenses out. Jaycee Is an arrogant person . But he can scratch his ass off. His hands are deadly fast.

    • Yeah I feel ya, used to have Cazal 509s (real ones from Germany) but mines had prescription. Jaycee I heard does come off as a bit rude but that’s just from what I heard. He’s ok there are faster dudes out there without the attitude, I even did a video a few years ago that is faster than that and I do not even consider myself a serious dj

  5. Atomix need to step up their game with those videos, if they really want to convince someone to jump ships. First those failed chirps, now edits every 2 bars.

Seriously? This is how they believe they will successfully market themselves against Serato & NI?
