It’s easy to take DJing too seriously. For some, it’s life itself and most probably their mortgage too. For them, DJing is an art, a craft, and should be spoken of only in the most reverential of terms. That’s fine of course, but it strikes me we seem to be forgetting a key element, and that’s fun. And for beginners looking to start somewhere, there is no better place to start than a cheap and simple controller that has the essential element of fun built right in.

FUN. PURE UNADULTERATED FUN.
Yes I know it’s never going to be seen in a booth, nor will professionals take it seriously. But for a great many beginners, this is going to hit the spot perfectly. For 70 quid, you get a basic 2 channel controller and a light show. I’ve seen a video — it definitely is fun. Imagine a bedroom, with said beginner fist pumping for their imaginary crowd… the light show really helps to set the tone.
I say beginner, because that’s clearly the target market. But there’s enough on this to rock any party. And now it has lights.

my only complaint to this is the lenght of the paragraph because it doesn’t make it suitable for a visible tattoo. XP
Hats off Mark.
Just get a tattoo that says “Serious Dj”.
I agree, my main job is forklift operator, and so many people seem to think if I try anything else for fun and enjoy it, I am wasting time.
Yet that same person can spend 6hours a day on Facebook?
Someone asked me if I wanted to be a Dj, of course I would, but that’s not why I love making and mixing and learning music. For me I always need a creative outlet, I must make or change or manipulate, it’s just how I am.
I wish I had that controller when I started.
Seriously I prefer be funny person like serious dj. :V
Very cute, would like to try it out.
The feature
“Built-in light show creates party atmosphere” is an awesome idea :D
You can really see a bleed through from companies in the inMusic group with this. Personally, my eye sees a lot of Akai and M-Audio influences in this unit.
Back to the old skool, in a way.
Some of the all-in-one disco consoles from the vinyl days (70s/80s) had spot lamps in the front. I know the one I built for a school woodwork project did!
Hot price. This will be a big seller in its price bracket.
Wow – when you compare the price to what a Numark Omni was 5 years ago
Right? I know I’m getting old when I see this price and think how lucky kids have it these days.
I’m going to recommend one of these to a friend that’s trying to ride my coat tails & become a DJ.
