Thursday — live Kontrol D2 and Stems events in the UK

This Thursday, NI UK is attempting an ambitious multi-retailer live preview of the new Traktor Kontrol D2 with a live broadcast from NI HQ about Stems.

NI Traktor Kontrol D2 previews stems

In what is possibly a first in the DJ industry, Native Instruments UK is holding in-store preview events this Thursday at 7pm for the new Traktor Kontrol D2 across UK and Ireland — yes at the same time. Even more ambitiously, there will also be a simulcast from Berlin showing off the new Stems technology. This should be fun.

Words and a retailer list:

Free exclusive TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 in-store preview event to take place across the UK and Ireland On April 23, eleven UK and Irish store locations will open their doors for a free in-store event to introduce the forthcoming TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 controller

Berlin, April 20 2015 – Native Instruments today announced exclusive sneak-preview events, introducing the new TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 in select UK and Irish retail stores. Guided by authorized Native Instruments Dealer Ambassadors, the free events offer participants an in-depth look at the brand-new next-generation deck controller for TRAKTOR ahead of its official release. In addition to the guided product demonstration, participants can take advantage of the opportunity to secure their reservation of a D2 unit by signing-up to a priority pre-order list available only through one of the events. Participants at each location will also get the chance to enter a prize draw where one person from each store will be chosen to win a TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 unit.

As one of the first Stems-ready DJ controllers, TRAKTOR KONTROL D2 will provide the medium for Senior TRAKTOR Product Specialist Chad Carrier to give a rare public demonstration on Stems – an open, multi-channel audio format scheduled for release in summer 2015. Chad will share valuable insight and the performance mechanics behind Stems in a livestream from Native Instruments headquarters in Berlin. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to discuss the new format in an open Q&A session.

The preview events take place at all eleven locations simultaneously on April 23 at 7:00 PM BST.

  1. I hope to hear more about the Stems project. It’s either going to be huge, or be seen as an overly ambitious attempt at giving DJs too much control.

  2. I take it by the lack of comments that not many people are too interested in this.I use traktor and these stems and this new controller are boring me stupid.Wake up NI

    • The D2 and Stems articles have way more comments than any other article since quite some time. You really can’t say that there is a lack of interest.

I have a question to you… if stems and the D2 bore you stupid… what would hypothetically speaking a product from NI that would excite you?

  3. I wish NI would come up with a bundle discount, if you buy 2 you get 2 Traktor Pro licenses when you would only need one, or have an option to buy them without the license.
