Teaser time dear readers. It’s been a while since we had a such a thing, but our good friends at algoriddim have something to get your juices flowing. They’ve posted a counter, that at the time of writing is showing a little over 63 hours until… whatever it is they’re announcing.
As is the way with djay related stuff, I cannot say a word as I’ve been recruited to produce some press shots and a couple of videos. So that’s all I can say on this subject, other than if you like using djay, then you’re about to like using it a lot more. And if you don’t use djay, this may well make you start.
But don’t let me stop you from speculating in the comments.
based on there being loads of album covers in the graphic, and the precedent set by the pacemaker dj app, my guess is that we will see some kind of music service tied in with djay. most likely spotify.
Cloud based music library…..hmmmm.
I got a ‘Internal error.’ when I tried to sign up to the Algoriddim newsletter. Maybe because I have Chrome not to accept any cookies. Tried Firefox and it worked.
djay is a phenomenal app on the ipad. However, I don’t use it because you cannot connect an external hard drive for your music library. I would like djay to be skin-able with vector graphics. I like the display, but I don’t need to see things like the pitch slider and volume faders if I use a controller.
Am I the only DJ that doesn’t get excited with all this music (ex: whitelabel, Virtual DJ Membership, BeatPort etc.) integration?
Is the Numark NS7ii controller with DD platters be integrated?
Okay I vote for vjay like video features; cloud based subscription service or their own broadcast service; all features of djay for ios (sampler pads, vertical waveforms, etc); more controller support (especially pad featured controllers).
Erm….maybe a laptop based program with the full features of a Serato or Traktor?
It would suck if it was Spotify. Not available here in Canada.
vjay + djay + timecodes + MIDI. That’s all.
Midi maaping? Then I could use my is202 dock and charge the ipad meanwhile I use djay or vjay…
Definitley an update for the Mac version.
Djay on arduino/Leonardo board? A real hid controller? A controller design contest, ran through kickstarter, and the winner has to build a prototype. I mean, if you use big words, ya better come with BIG ideas. What you need is midi mapping, UI customization, charge while use.
A “revolution” would be to announce that you can now point your iPad camera at a spinning record and control the jog wheel in the app with the record. (this does work, btw, with a simple bar code. You would think that since everyone is so worked up over vinyl, this would be a priority)
You don’t say “It’s time for a revolution” unless it’s something huge.
Hopefully an update to the Mac version as their recent emphasis seems to have been on iOS devices. Maybe a ‘pro’ version with 4 decks?
Maybe a new ‘remote’ version for the iPad, so the iPad acts as a wireless controller to djay on the Mac. (The current ‘remote’ app is designed for the iPhone.)
Spotify Business,as today you can use spotify at small restaurants, clubs…etc up to 5 work places, cost 399,- sek (60,- US), offline mode. Bye
If its revolutionary, its means it has be something new…
DVS off an iPad? Please be this
It’s out. Spotify integration: check!
seriously thinking its time to switch away from Djay to one of the serious players in the market, Traktor, Virtual, Serato etc, given Algoriddim seem more interested in adding gimmickry for their iPad version instead of useful feature updates for their Mac product :o(
