Showcase: DJ Tigerstyle at the IDA World Finals

DJ Tigerstyle took to the IDA World Finals stage in Poland, not to complete but to deliver a masterclass in turntablism and beatmaking.

The IDA World finals happened in Poland last week. And while the current cream of the turntablist world assembled to tear each other apart via the medium of scratching, some DJs turned up and just played for the crowd. Having earned his stripes and proved his ability over the years at DMC, it was time for DJ Tigerstyle to show his considerable skills on the ones, twos, and MPC in a killer showcase.

It’s 10 minutes of unbelievable scratching (I would love to see a 120fps version of this fader hand) as well as crafting his own beats in between. If you’ve never examined his style, watch his thumb on his vinyl hand — it’s like it’s unconnected and swings around like a counterbalance. Just amazing.

I think you meant “not to compete” :+)
    in the description from homepage.
    Thanks for the vid mark!

  2. Absolutely brilliant scratching, but sorry to say the music (not the scratching & drum ming) is horrid……..first five minutes sounds like the soundtrack from a porno or something. I actually couldn’t watch it to the end!!
