Check out this new 15 minute long session from scratch legends Qbert and Mix Master Mike, reunited for a Star Wars themed jam.

While it’s not the full Invizibl Skratch Piklz, 15 minutes of Star Wars themed turntablism from Qbert and Mix Master Mike is very cool and rare thing to behold. It requires no more words. Just watch.

    • i totally agree…
Ok it’s a Jam on front of a Green screen, but jammin’ with the same loop as instrumental for 30 minutes…
That’s why scratching is dying and why DJs are looking for some new stuff to do…
Scratching too much is killing scratch…

        • It’s always a pleasure to have so constructive comments like that.

now, on the Internet ,the ‘100% pure Scratch DJs’ are only sh*tting on other people ideas like you’ve just done…

          Where’s the respect man ?

Open your mind, the “magical” thing of Scratch for the public died the day That DJs uses CDJs to scratch in front of the crowd in clubs (slip mode engaged).

I was maybe in the first guys to get Serato SL1 years ago, and some “integrist” DJs were saying that Scratching with turntables with a computer was not scratching…
Vinyl industry died, then Serato became The Temple of Scratch DJ’s…
          Technology changed the game.

To come back to the video, this Jam sucks, I didn’t take any pleasure to ear it.
I still have some (unreadable) VHS videos with QBert and Master Mike so better than that.
VHS we were copying and exchanging with DJs years ago.

I trained for hours and hours when I was younger to improve my scratching techniques.
And I know how it can be frustrating to see the non-reconnaissance you have when you are doing the best trick ever in front of non-scratching DJs, because they don’t understand why it seems to be so difficult, because they can do the same sound on CDJs in 2 minutes…

Since 2012 there is no way to participate in DMC qualifying steps in France for example… Only “online” things.

Music stores don’t sell so many Mixers and turntables than before…

The game is changing and “Pure Scratch” is dying.
Kids are more interested by manipulating sounds on their Smartphones that with turntables.

    • Back in the days, when these dudes had a “jam session”, we got recordings like Klums uv Death. Do you find this new video even remotely attached to those masterpieces?

    • Back in the days, when these dudes had a “jam session”, we got recordings like Klums uv Death. Do you find this new video even remotely attached to those masterpieces?

      • Absolutely not. But following your thought: if it’s no masterpiece in the eye of the viewer, anybody shouldn’t be allowed upload anything to Youtube? These guys are legends, they can do anything they want. I don’t think there is any innovation in this vid, but it sure has a Wave Twisters spirit to it.

        • If qbert was as talented at making beats as he is at scratching then both Wavetwisters and this could have been much better.

Thats the whole reason why i never bought the Wave Twisters album, wasn’t feeling the non-artistic beats, he has a freaking SP-1200 but never a classic came out of that.

Anyway i enjoyed the vid, the cuts were dope from MMM
