Once in a while, a slice of DJ history escapes from the R&D labs into the public domain. This time however, Allen & Heath have decided to put the development model of their Xone:DB4 on eBay, signed by the artists and designers, and the proceeds going to CLIC Sargent, a young person's cancer charity.

It seems that while not exclusive, Serato and Pioneer DJ are still seeing each other. The continued dalliance has brought forth the updated DDJ-SX3, a Serato DJ Pro powered controller that adds dual USB, three mics, and a heap of refinements.

The venerable Allen & Heath Xone:92 is 15 years old, which makes it high time for a sequel. But much has changed in that time, so is the newly teased Xone:96 a logical progression ? Or a balls-out reimagining? You'll have to wait and see.

Over the last decade, Gibson has been on a bit of a spending spree — one of those where you don't remember buying that thing in the back of the wardrobe. And now they're paying the price and have filed for chapter 11. Is this the end for DJ brands? Our sources say quite the opposite.

DJ Woody's mind doesn't work like regular DJs, which is why he's at the very top of the turntablist tree. And from time to time, he turns his mind to devising new ways of doing DJ things. The Grind Strip is one of those things that opens new doors for turntablists.

And The Groove Remains Productions has come back with another useful tool for moving your music collections around. This time, the Traktor Cue and Key tool helps you sync your Mixed in Key and iTunes information.

Using the same literary device for the second time this week, but rumours of Traktor's demise have been greatly exaggerated. And yesterday saw Native Instruments make a long awaited announcement about the future of Traktor. Brace yourselves...

DJ gear seems to get more expensive every year, which makes retail therapy hard to do. Thankfully headphones are still in the realms of most pockets, thus the new Pioneer DJ HDJ-S7 cans will find many buyers just because they can. Geddit?

Despite armchair expert's opinion, Traktor is alive and kicking. And with the latest public beta version, Traktor gets firmly into bed with Pioneer DJ. As well as making it run better with players, it also certifies a handful of mixers. Welcome to the new world of open Traktor.
