FRIDAY GIVEAWAY: Griffin DJ Connect x 3

In the digital age, DJs have an increasing need for audio interfaces. This has never been truer since iPads and iPhones emerged as a real player in the DJ scene. But they really need a good interface to make them more useful. So having reviewed it, we've got 3 x Griffin DJ Connect audio interfaces to give away.

griffin DJ Connect competition

Time to give away some booty. When you make a product video, having the product is fairly important to achieve this goal. But instead of just sending a single Griffin DJ Connect, I got a box of four. Do I need four? No I do not, so I’m giving the others away to the DJWORX community. And when I say community, the product does rather dictate that this will be the part of the community that owns a Mac or iOS device.

What do you have to do to win? Just leave a comment below as to why you feel you should win, and we’ll let the community up-vote the ones they like the best to decide the winners. You could get inventive and add photos to support your cause too. It’s a matter of how much you want to win. You do want to win right? ;)

Let’s give this a week. Off you go then.

  1. i’d like to give it to a good friend of mine who just got back into djing. at the moment he’s using a homemade splitter cable solution with his (old) ipad and can’t afford a decent soundcard…

  2. I love the app!! Best thing on my IPAD since update and having Spotify it changes everything, anything is possible. I have idjpro pad! Making djing possible! Well done Algoriddim good work keep it up, oh and if I win I would really appreciate it :)

  3. Aliens have threatened to abduct me if I don’t win. They’ve already turned my cat into a dog and my wife into a nagger. I don’t need something else going wrong…

  4. Well it’d rock for me, cos as awesome as the tunes sound when I’m going nuts at some random house party, using a mouse pad on my laptop just doesn’t look cool.. Sounds – Awesome. Looks – not the part..

  5. Why I should win? Because this minimal setup needs a suited soundcard. I mapped the MF Twister as my mixer and I am using the X1 deck controls + effect. Feel free to ask for the MF-mapping ;) This setup is ideal for throwing house parties or on the road! If you have a nice pool, I will rock your poolparty!

  7. Because life without Griffin is like cracking open a lobster shell to discover that some other bastard has already gorged himself on the meat…

  9. Loooong time fan since skratchworx. Winning this will inspire me to DJ like it’s 2014. My last equipment purchase was an SL1 near its original release date. Sad. So, so sad.

  10. I should win because I’m maybe not your average DJ, I’m spinning mostly japanese Indie Rock tunes in small clubs – unique stuff not everyone knows, with different playlists and not like ‘always the same’… These clubs are small and pretty cramped most of the time, I often have to work at the place where a barkeeper could stand. And for that the Vestax Spin (1st gen.) – with algoriddim djay of course – ist a bit overkill and especially a bit (sometimes way) too big – for the fact that I need maybe 3 functions and not the whole unit for playing Rock-style tunes… The Griffin DJ Connect looks like the perfect tool for me. So to get a chance to proof that I’d love to win a unit! Best wishes and greetings form Austria! :)

  11. I’ve just bought the ‘splitter cable’ and the first time I went to use it the app took me to a demo of this bit of kit and I realised that THIS is what I really want so me please…… Please…….. Please, with a cherry on top :-)
Thought I’d add that I use my kit to run a Roller Disco for my local community to enjoy and give local families something they can enjoy together but it was started on a shoe string and all donations are great fully received.

  12. I’ve been with Djay since the beginning & have suffered through all the hiccups along the way.
I am now using only an iPad with the Griffen(a djay product) splitter. I am always struggling with the precue and this seems to be the best solution. With all my most recent upgrades to my gear I am tapped out!
This would complete me. It is the only piece of the puzzle I need to be the best in the business. As a former Apple employee I have converted many people and other DJ’s on to your brilliant software. Please and thank you

  13. URGENT – HELP ME DISTRIBUTE MY $15 MILLION TO CHARITY

I have 15,000,000.00 (fifteen million) U.S. Dollars and I want you to assist me in distributing the money to charity organisations. I agree to accept your fine gift of a Griffin DJ Connect in return for a 10% share in this Godly project.

I am DJ Peter Attah and I am a 15 years old man. I am a South African living in the Garden City of Port Harcourt – Nigeria. I was the President/CEO of DJ WORX Appreciation Society (formally the SCRATCHWORX Appreciation Society) in Port Harcourt.

I have found a new desire to improve my DJing skills to assist the helpless. I have been helping orphans DJs in orphanages/motherless homes and donated 10’s of thousands of tsi files to many orphans in Sudan, Ethiopia, Cameroon,Spain,Austria,Germany and some Asian countries.

Please, I beg you in the name of God to help me collect the $15 Million and distributes it amongst charity organisations. All I ask of you is a small donation of a Griffin DJ Connect and in return I will reward you for your assistance and kindness to the tune of 1,500,000.00 (1.5 million) U.S. Dollars.

Kindly expedite action and contact me via e-mail if this proposal is acceptable to you.

May the good Lord bless you and your family.

    Best Regards,

    DJ Peter Attah

  14. I use DJay all of the time when introducing young folk to DJing. It’s great because they get the to do basics and if they want, they can download the app afterwards and continue to DJ without having to spend loads of money on kit to get going!

  15. I started out around ’98-99, but over the last 6-7 years it’s been impossible to maintain DJ’ing as a hobby. I’ve dusted off the turntables about once every six months in a series of pathetic false starts, but it never takes off. My life is cluttered floor to ceiling with the ebb and flow of stock for my better half’s part-time business.

In my late teens and early twenties, it was all about lugging flightcases full of kit and vinyl to run parties. I loved hauling and setting up the kit as much as the party. Things move on, of course; but I haven’t. I still think of DJ’ing as a few dozen records and some Technics, which is entirely incongruous with every other aspect my life where technology has become radically simplified.

Example: I start reading the review for this product, which sounds like a good fit for somebody like me. It’s reasonably priced, too. But my broken mind reminds me that I could put that money towards a new set of carts for those dusty Technics I never use. I imagine the pang of guilt that would precede marital infidelity might feel the same. And so the clogs of vinyl are cast into the digital machinery and I remain a tragic, luddite, non-DJ.

I would certainly appreciate the interface; I’d go as far to say that I’m quite excited by the idea. But I need to jump from the careering airship vinyl in tandem.

  16. I sold my ipad last year. Now I’m only using Traktor on the PC. A good friend of mine who i used to DJ with (we are amateur style) still uses the ipad. I’m still looking for a nice birthday gift for him. Hope I can give him one of these.

  17. Why should I win? Because it would look lovely next to my powermate.. which I use to DJ with in traktor.. I used to have it controlling the pitch and phase for each deck but I scrapped the mapping because it was a bit too cumbersome. But I still have my powermate controlling master tempo in traktor and I plan on buying two of the upcoming bluetooth versions of the powermate because you can use more than one simultaneously.. I already know the powermate works as a lovely jog so I am pretty sure the new versions will be even better.. it would be pretty cool to have a griffin based mini setup. Also, I currently don’t have any decks of any sort. It is super hard to be a bad ass dj without decks but I still manage it.. so.. That should be reason enough. ;)

  18. This would be a great addition. I’m slowly starting to get into my DJ business. I loved music since I could remember. Why not do what you love for a living. I hope to become a great DJ and make people excited when they here my mixes. If I would win, I would be ecstatic! But most of all grateful. This would help me more and more. Hopefully it will help my wife and i to raise money for her surgery. She was diagnosed with endometriosis a few years ago. Only one good specialist in Manhattan. Cost $20,000 or more. Thank you for give us a chance to participate on this give away.

  19. I should win one because I will use it to help me in my quest for world domination. How do you improve an already amazing world renown DJ you ask? Give him the ability to rock a crowd at any moment at the drop of a track. I could be up there with the likes of top DJs in the world. Dropin’ bombs on your moms at the grocery. Cutting and scratching at the bus stop. Hell I could even rock the bathroom while folks handle their biz. I could be the ninja DJ and sneak in all unsuspected and bust out in a full out rager. Just think, you could be the catalyst for the complete and total awesomeness that is DJ Sneaky Pete!

  20. Well – To be honest – I don’t NEED it like the rest of the people below, I would just like to have it, and it would be cool to actually win something for once. I will use it for sure, and cherish and love it – but if I don’t win its cool, i`ll still love DJ WORX and frequent the website often like I already do. so choose your winner, even if it isn’t me…. i`ll live!

  21. I need it cause I spent my last couple of dollars on buying new music to dj with instead of buying a soundcard for the ipad. I’m just winging it for now with a splitter cable running in mono. not that it makes a big difference cause most club systems are mono but its better with a soundcard than hearing the splitter make line noise when it shifts cause I’m cuing a song. that drives me crazy. you know the crackle. that god damn crackle. argrghagrhghh!

  22. I need this thing, because I work with my iPad 2 and Algoriddim Djay every day in rehearsal sale ( I teach novice on the traditional dances), and week nights on the Club – when I DJ-ing… The Start and the finish is with Djay… I hope will be useful is I have it.

  23. I need this because i just started using my new turntable and i use djay mostly everyday. Also i would be very thankful of you to send me this. :)

  24. I need this because I am still DJing with CDs and need to move ahead with the times finally. I’ve been practicing with a variety of iPad apps, but without an interface, I don’t have the confidence to bring this out live to actual events. I am not confident with visual Cueing and mixing. I need to be able to pre-Cue and mix with headphones. Ive spent tens of thousands of dollars building an insane music collection and also getting the gear to bring the music to people for almost 15 years now. Help this old dog learn some new, better tricks!

  25. I started DJing pretty recently and I’ve had to make due with running a splitter cable from my iPad. It gets the job done, but I sacrifice audio quality. I’d really appreciate having two distinct audio channels when cueing!
    Help me out!!!

  26. Sooo..am going for the sympathy vote…..it’s worth a read ….promise

Got myself a nice auto immune dissese that atcaks my bones..no more giggy on dance floor!!!
an no dragging tunes and controls everywhere….not with out my walking sticks and they are a pain in the ass…and imposs todo..but ok since I got my iPad 64g mini…just no controller
So why do I think should on that..we’ll I don’t …but this bit u will say yes..he should for that..
So been asked to play at BDSM night in London Town….as u do….
And I had to tell mistress of the club that I may not be able to play as will need to be on sticks……..Fine she said come down I have a plan that will enable u not to sit down…..and still play
Got to club..full suspension set up above the decks..and for people not the kit….

Why oh why did I not click!! Could not sit for hours…..not after she showed my the way to be bound…oh then she said as waving her Cain !!! Once I was up and bound …that artists take pain for the love of their art at times….so I should win this coz…I took about 10!!! For the team…just to show us Djs can play anywhere anyhow…most of all if I win that controller

  27. I think “we” deserve to win one of the Dj Griffin Connects for the following reasons. I undertake voluntary work for my local community radio station in Scotland presenting a dance music show once a month. Every other show on the station broadcasts in stereo however as I use only an iPad with algoriddim & djay2 my show broadcasts in mono via a standard griffin cable. Listening figures for my show are consistently between 1000-2000 every month. The addition of the stereo sound would enhance the experience for the listeners and support a local cause which “we” would appreciate immensely. To verify please check out the links to my radio profile page and mixcloud page for some of the previous shows :)

    • As much as it pains me to helps the competition, I think it’s really cool that you do local community radio. That shows passion and I like that, so you got my up-vote. I hope your one of the big three winners!

      • Thanks very much for the vote! Here is a view of the current studio which I should have attached to my first post. All equipment is purchased through grants and local fundraising in the community. We are all unpaid and devote our time and money to keep the station running.

  28. Because, I was in tomorrowland last weekend and I found out that is what I am born for , so I bought my dejay2 app and order my first controller today “iDjLive2” in amazon and start to pursue my dream and I was arriving to this site by accident and I just thought its my portion of chance :D

  29. I’d give it to the DJ group who are going to Burning Man. They certainly need more gear (stuff breaks and doesn’t work for unknown reasons out there). They’re part of the Thunderdome / Death Guild crew.

  30. I know I should win this because me and my friend are bedroom djs who dream of becoming party djs and we could use as much equipment as possible. And we love the algoriddim app djay in our iPads which makes this a great tool for us.

  31. I am having friends of mine DJ my wedding. They aren’t necessarily familiar with SSL, so I am going to set them up so they can play direct from an aux to RCA. I know the AUX to RCA sacrifices sound quality, but the ease of operation will keep me away from DJing the night. If I have the Griffin Connect, it will sound just fine indeed.

  32. late to the party but hopefully not too late. will make be an awesome tool to engage the youth group i work with in North-london and hopefully encourage them to have a go at djing (instead of doing other “things”)

  33. I am a wedding Dj with a family of 4. I have another baby on the way. I am going to be the soul provider for my family through music. My goal is to let my wife stay home with my new baby. Thanks for helping my dream come true. #preyeveryday

  34. I’m a young upcoming dj who has a passion for music. I’m 16 years of age and I believe I should win because I need the stuff to get further in my endeavours since it is something I want to do in the future professionally to support my family

  35. Seeing as I can hardly hear myself type under the shouting of everyone including the team, here are the winners who need to drop me a line at contact at djworxdotcom with their addresses.

As per the rules of the competition, DjSix Resurrection, Stvei Foader, and Vincent Cools – you all polled the most votes so you win.
