Kypski, Controller Ones, and a live “Headcrack”

I do like a bit of Vestax Controller One magic. But Kypski just doubles the fun with a live performance of his "Head Crack" track on a pair of C1s.

Time for a video performance. Once again Kypski works his established magic with the Vestax Controller One (or in this case Ones) and performs “Headcrack”, a track from his “Wreck Fader” LP that’s available on Lowriders Recordings. Aside from the obvious turntablistic stylings, it’s just a cool thumping track.

Having discussed this briefly with Kypski, it’s quite possible that he’s the only DJ in the world with a pair of Controller Ones. Having established that there were only 100 made, he’s got a full 2% of all the C1s in the world.

So here’s a task for us all to complete — where are all the others? Help me locate the remaining 98. Fill in names in the comments.

  2. I sold one to a guy in the Netherlands, and I recall it wasn’t Kypski. Someone was inspired by Kyp and wanted one really badly. There was one still at the Italian distributor, which we imported to the Netherlands for him.

So there are at least three in the Netherlands.

  3. This is the direction I’m going. I just need a LOT more practice and a group to work with. Props to Kypski and everyone who pushes this style of Controllerism like Shifty, Endo, and Enferno (not an exhaustive list).

    This is the future

  4. Speaking of midi turntables, wasn’t there someone by the name of JohnBeez which floated a teaser video of his latest and greatest FretlessFader some 10 months ago with little word since…
