At NAMM, we instantly fell in love with the Numark Lightwave speakers that merged sound with light. And we’ve also talked at length about what we feel are true all-in-on controllers. But it seems that they’ve all been mere shadows of what a real all-in-one should be, because the Tibo Urban 500 combines a controller, PA, and light show all into a single DJ solution, complete with luxurious carpeted console.
Some words from Tibo:

So the Tibo Urban 500 is possibly the most complete standalone DJ solution out there. It does DJing, sound, and light in a very pulpit-like format. And while I’m pretty sure it doesn’t do any of them in a class leading way, it’s probably an ideal solution for a lot of mobile DJs out there. Now feel free to unleash the whole “you won’t see it in a booth” mantra that usually gets rolled out at products like this, that aren’t actually designed for booths.
This product reminds me of this video :-)

If only this pkg included shiftee. Would buy 10.
Its sad it all have come to this, id rather jam to a TB303 in that case!
It’s an interesting concept and if it’s priced right there will definitely be a market.
I know a guy that has a huge sony Ipod dock that looks almost the same, but if he could have bought one with a controller built in he definitely would have got that instead…because, why not?
priced at 700£ (1000$) according to one review… I think that’s over priced.
good idea but they should maybe charge a little more and get a better quality controller in there (one with a proper screen for selecting tracks, nobody is going to put up with those poxy lcd screens to search their 4000 track library)
C’mon, don’t you recognize a renegade sound system when you see one? This box is designed to pull up stakes when the cops come. It uses old tech (that still works), and it’s versatile… where it falls down is the price. No renegade is going to drop $1000 on a quickly portable DJ booth…but they might slap-dash their own together based off this design though.
At a thousand bucks I think I could build something myself that would be better. I didn’t see any mobile dj apps mentioned but hopefully that controller would work with dj player at least. I see no point in this unless I can utilize a mobile device for a screen. Those “screens” are unacceptable for 2015. This looks like a 2010 product. Screens worse than a cdj 300
Not too sure what u mean about mobile dj apps. Vdj is mentioned which is probably the leading software of choice for mobile dj’s. However, I do agree with you on the screens & the whole 2010 product thing. I certainly wouldn’t buy it.
Mobile device.
mommy i want my big screen, i can’t DJ without a tiny screen smh
Uh, you look at this unit, and that’s the thing you choose to address?
This screams young and inexperienced company. Charging way too much for what amounts to an old controller wedged into a self-powered speaker is a classic “we don’t know what we’re doing, we’re just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks” mindset. I’m sure the speaker gear they make is passable, but wouldn’t you think they’d make a device that could inspire people to buy more of their core products (wireless speakers)?
Is it April already?
Have you checked out their website? I tried to see if the wireless options included Bluetooth speaker output, but it was impossible to find. They tout their new design and it shows someone knows bells and whistles of web page making, but no idea how to make a good website for a consumer.
Do yourself a favor, stay far away from this.
This post made me lol. This looks like it’s from the 90s. Not in a good way. Cool idea (sorta) but reminds me of this iPod dj speaker system I saw maybe a decade ago. Something similar to this http://www.ionaudio.com/images/products/mobiledj_angle2_lg.jpg but not exactly the same. It looked more like the one in the post.
I guess someone decided to make a DJ booth for playing underground parties in urban blight? I love playing underground shows, but at only 500 watts of power, this thing is not going to entertain more than a very small crowd in a garage or living room. I’m an old punk, but even we had the decency of bringing in a few old stereo amplifiers and disposable speakers that we wired together with speaker cable.
I think this is a solution looking for a problem, by a person who thinks $1,000 is disposable income for kids who party in squats… maybe it will be when the price drops to $300.
These are stackable ;)

I dont know, but i dislike these screens, all over the place, you have a controller and a computer, you have a 2000nxs with a screen or a controller with a large “Slate” and WAVEFORMS up the Gazzouuuu.
Why do we need them?, really, i like the screen that was on the 1000 mk3 or at least the 2000, without the “Traktorbar” or dancing Fergusons.
A screen should be there to get the most minimalistic information so you can relax and enjoy the music, not staring at a jukeboxscreen.
Sorry, but i hate it, i really do!
A Numark Lightwave with a £400 controller mounted/screwed to the top is sooooooo much better.
500watts my A$$, you want the exact wattage of 500w that we are used to, this heap of junk need at least 2000w *LOL*, at least on the label on the back
People buy of what it says on the package, they seldom listen to how it sounds
Its like saying a Hifi microsystem has 250w, yeah sure!
Id rather have 100 “REAL” watts then say 1 Fake kilowatt.
