Here’s one from AphaTheta that has just sneaked out, squarely aimed at beginners. The Rekordbox App for iOS and Android gets a Lite mode. It’s free (although the streaming services aren’t) and comes with Apple Music, Tidal and Soundcloud integration (plus more DJ centred services like Beatport (not available on Android)) so you can be mixing on your mobile or tablet within minutes. Great for travel, you can mix it up on the way to work. If you just want to have a quick play, or introduce someone to mixing then just it the Lite button in the app. Hit it again to access all of the features on the Rekordbox app. There’s no doubt that the full App can be a little overwhelming with so much information on a small screen, so we think this is a smart move from Alphaheta.
