A few weeks ago, we were sent a teaser video by Gábor Szántó of DJ Player fame that showed something pretty cool that didn’t look too much like the version of the iOS app. We all tossed around some guesses, and while some were wide of the mark, others were close. And despite being thrown off the scent in my first email to Gábor, it would appear that Stems are hitting DJ Player. But not just any old DJ Player, for what we see in the above video is in fact DJ PLAYER PRO.

Again, Gábor is being coy about exactly what DJ Player Pro will mean, but you can see full control over each stem, with volume, filter, and effects per stem, with simple double taps to reset each one. Nice.

Notably, this is before Native Instruments has managed to implement Stems properly in either Traktor Pro or Traktor DJ. I’ll only consider it properly implemented when I can see stems in my laptop screen. But I do admire Gábor’s approach to things. Instead of waiting, he just goes ahead and works it all out for himself, and gets a head start on everyone else.

Good work sir. Keep it coming.

Commenting Etiquette

Welcome to DJWORX. It’s the most engaged community around, and we have a handful of house rules to keep it that way:
  • • Be polite and constructive.
  • • Treat others as you would expect to be treated. So please disengage keyboard warrior mode before hammering in a full caps rant.
  • • Stay on topic.
  • • Consider your tone of voice. Telling someone that they’re wrong comes across better as “I don’t agree and here’s why”.
  • • No links to copyrighted or offensive material.
Life is way too short to waste time policing comments. So break the rules and you’re out. It’s just the internet, and  the DJWORX community is way more important than catering to the fragile egos of ranting trolls. I trust I have been crystal clear.
