Off-the-shelf might work for most people, but not DJ RhYmEs. Having already done a very tidy fretless fader mod to a Mackie d.2, he has now turned his attention to the issue of a fader in a box, and the results are spectacular. Driven by an Innofader and a Livid Brain Jr, the custom Faderbox V3 brings scratching to a single turntable, as well as MIDI buttons.
DJs are just human beings, and despite our protestations, we do care about how our gear looks out of the box. But are you prepared to do something about it?
Technics might be over, but that doesn't stop clever people making old Technics better. The SL-DZ1200 has been modded into a 10" turntable by DJ J-Tek.
Not content with the awesomeness that a Technics 1200 has, DJ Backtrack has made a kit that injects some of his own ultra pitch and MIDI awesomeness.
They big boys don't need out help, so we get behind small businesses whenever possible. 1200 Plates makes very shiny faceplates for Technics turntables.
Pretty much everything in Traktor can be modified... including the MIDI controller screens. Which is what Joe Easton did for the Kontrol S4 MK3.
