EXCLUSIVE: Traktor Kontrol F1 - Unboxed 3

The Traktor Kontrol F1 is imminent. Some dealers report that they have stock but can’t release them just yet. So you’ll just have to wait a little longer before you can paw one for yourself. But I’m going to allow you to handle one vicariously through me. Yes, one turned up unannounced today, and I felt it was my civic and moral duty to unbox it just for you.

Now, if you’re expecting a full review, you may as well go away now. I got permission to do this much, but have yet to download and install the new Traktor software. All I can say is that I need to register this hardware to get a copy of Traktor Pro 2.5. so it’s clearly ready for action. But those LED pads – retina scorchingly bright. It’s beautiful to see in the dark.

I have this unit for photography, and the team will be getting theirs very soon indeed. I’ve broken off from something else to do this is a quick and nasty set, hence the lack of pictures and care. Expect full reviews to follow in double quick time from people considerably more versed in Traktor and MIDI than I am.

Commenting Etiquette

Welcome to DJWORX. It’s the most engaged community around, and we have a handful of house rules to keep it that way:
  • • Be polite and constructive.
  • • Treat others as you would expect to be treated. So please disengage keyboard warrior mode before hammering in a full caps rant.
  • • Stay on topic.
  • • Consider your tone of voice. Telling someone that they’re wrong comes across better as “I don’t agree and here’s why”.
  • • No links to copyrighted or offensive material.
Life is way too short to waste time policing comments. So break the rules and you’re out. It’s just the internet, and  the DJWORX community is way more important than catering to the fragile egos of ranting trolls. I trust I have been crystal clear.
