I’m always vaguely aware that I first committed words to webpage in September 2003, but I just realised that today is the 12th anniversary of that event. So to celebrate our 12th birthday, I thought a brief change of wallpaper would suffice. But yeah… Happy 12th Birthday to us. Hmmm… cupcakes.

Funnily enough, the first story I posted was about the Pioneer DJM-707 and DJM-909, something that is fresh in people’s minds right now with the advent of the DJM-S9. The Technics SL-DZ1200 was announced at the same time too, another unit that’s getting attention for entirely different reasons. Has it really been that long? And a few months later, Serato Scratch Live was unveiled. And we saw it all, and will continue to see it all too.

So just for today, please endure the overt orangeness of the site, and raise a glass or cupcake to skratchworx, the skratchshop, the now closed skratchlounge forum, and to DJWORX and whatever the future may bring (hint – it’s bringing stuff).

Commenting Etiquette

Welcome to DJWORX. It’s the most engaged community around, and we have a handful of house rules to keep it that way:
  • • Be polite and constructive.
  • • Treat others as you would expect to be treated. So please disengage keyboard warrior mode before hammering in a full caps rant.
  • • Stay on topic.
  • • Consider your tone of voice. Telling someone that they’re wrong comes across better as “I don’t agree and here’s why”.
  • • No links to copyrighted or offensive material.
Life is way too short to waste time policing comments. So break the rules and you’re out. It’s just the internet, and  the DJWORX community is way more important than catering to the fragile egos of ranting trolls. I trust I have been crystal clear.
