Having posted about the new WeDJ app, it’s only right and correct that Pioneer DJ has some sort of hardware for it true on. And the DDJ-WeGO4 is that controller. Very familiar of course, but this will run with the new WeDJ app as well as the bundled rekordbox DJ.

Words… so many words today…

Pioneer DJ WeGO4 controller (5)

Be the DJ: Meet the DDJ-WeGO4 –

Laptop and iPad-compatible portable DJ controller

6th September 2016: Want to start DJing? Look no further than the DDJ-WeGO4 – the perfect piece of hardware for beginner DJs to step into the world of mixing. You can use the new lightweight controller to mix music from your iTunes library stored on your iPad or to control tracks stored on your laptop.

The DDJ-WeGO4 features all the tactile controls you need to learn to mix seamlessly, including play/cue buttons, EQ knobs, tempo sliders, a crossfader and jog wheels for scratching. The sampler, Hot Cues and Pad FX are all inherited from professional hardware, bringing even more creative possibilities to your sets. Setting up the DDJ-WeGO4 is easy too – you just plug in the supplied USB cable or a Lightning cable and it’s ready to use – and your iPad fits neatly into the slot at the top of the controller to give you the perfect viewing angle.

A licence key for our professional DJ performance application for Mac/PC, rekordbox dj (worth €139), comes bundled with the DDJ-WeGO4, so you can plug it into your laptop and start DJing straight out of the box. The controller is also compatible with WeDJ, our new, easy-to-use DJ performance app for iPad (available at an introductory price of €2.99 in the App Store), which lets you mix the tracks in your iTunes library, and you can use the DDJ-WeGO4 with the popular djay iOS and Android app.

And if you’re looking for the ideal gear to complete your Pioneer DJ set-up, the DM-40 speakers and HDJ-700 headphones are perfect partners to the DDJ-WeGO4.

The DDJ-WeGO4 is available from mid-September at an SRP of €319 including VAT. Watch our introduction video for the DDJ-WeGO4 and WeDJ and find out more here.

The DJC-B/WEGO3+BAG protective bag for the DDJ-WeGO4 is available separately at an SRP of €65. Find out more about the bag, which features egg-foam and fleeced lining to prevent damage from vibrations and shocks during transportation.

WeDJ is available in the App Store at an introductory price of €2.99 until 30th September 2016, and at the regular price of €4.99 from 1st October 2016.

Looks great, and I’m sure the experience with rekordbox DJ and WeDJ is stellar. But I have very little to add to this, and a pile of other BPM 2016 releases to get through. Sorry.

One last thing — the video is a breath of fresh air. Could have left out the whole house party bit in the middle and carried on with the eye catching black and whiteness. But good work.

Commenting Etiquette

Welcome to DJWORX. It’s the most engaged community around, and we have a handful of house rules to keep it that way:
  • • Be polite and constructive.
  • • Treat others as you would expect to be treated. So please disengage keyboard warrior mode before hammering in a full caps rant.
  • • Stay on topic.
  • • Consider your tone of voice. Telling someone that they’re wrong comes across better as “I don’t agree and here’s why”.
  • • No links to copyrighted or offensive material.
Life is way too short to waste time policing comments. So break the rules and you’re out. It’s just the internet, and  the DJWORX community is way more important than catering to the fragile egos of ranting trolls. I trust I have been crystal clear.
