Today, we saw something very cool from Native Instruments…

..and more than that we cannot say because of non-disclosure agreements. What we can however do is post the image that NI themselves posted on their Traktor Facebook page.

The only thing I can say is that this is not a NAMM story. However, there’s nothing to stop you lot from speculating away about it, but there will be no comment from anyone at DJWORX. So off you go.

Hmmmm, let me guess, it’s a Traktor-like DJ app for the iPad? Not to diss NI but this does not excite me.

If that is what it is me neither.

Yeah, probably just a traktor-esque app? or perhaps a specific F1/X1 combo or individual app? Even then…hardware is usually better. not sure what to think here.

so NI is still not interested in participating in any trade shows? sad, but they seem to have no issue with putting product into people’s hands so it’s understandable.

i’m glad to see NI is once again dipping into the iOS market, i’m a big fan of the iMaschine app …never a dull moment when i can bang out fresh beats at will!

Cloud organization of my music would be kinda nice..

gobbler.com is great for that if you’re a producer

I think that it’s interesting that there are no headphones being worn. I will speculate that this is a way of editing the beat-grid and cue points/loop points on tracks and samples away from your main Traktor setup. This would be spiritually similar to what Rekordbox does on mobile devices.

That’s all I can come up with that would be actually useful. Anything else (remote control of Traktor) would be gimmicky.

I hope with all might that your words hold to be true. This would be, at least for me, both a time-saver and I would have no more excuses to procrastinate when beat-gridding and organizing my collection. I just hope we can fully tweak the information on tracks i.e. id3 tags, album art, etc. I can already feel myself getting carried away with this lol. Cheers!

I’m gonna go minimal here in my guess and say its just going to be an app that turns an iPad into a controller for Traktor.

      bingo

beatgridding and cue pointing on an ipad would be freaking cool.

  • Josh McDermott

pfft.. a NI tank top! :)

I lol’d coffee all over. Thank you sir.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Andrewreinfeld Andrew Reinfeld

I think this is something like rekordbox

  • Patrick Dee

Oh not another app….and such an boring picture.cmon NI.

  • Arthur Eschner

Mmmm…. very cool you say. Then that rules out a Traktor ipad app.
I’ll have to go with the likes of a beat gridding app.

  • James Wilson

As others have said, I’d assume it’s something like Pioneer’s Rekordbox and Denon’s Engine. But knowing NI they’ve likely gone a step further, and I wouldn’t put past them to release Traktor for iOS. Maybe you’d be able to use an S4 or Z2 with it. Shouldn’t be too hard to implement, though they may need to make their own dongle/adaptor.

  • djartical

Maybe a traktor remote so u can control traktor away from the decks do everything from the dancefloor…..

  • Lauti

library managment or something like that

  • jabba
