Linn’s 40th anniversary Whisky themed LP12 turntable

Listening to the finest vinyl on an audiophile turntable while quaffing a fine single malt is how gentlemen should appreciate their music. So when Linn, purveyor of some of the more desirable audiophile equipment in the world teamed up with Highland Park Whisky, you just know that something decidedly special is coming. And to celebrate Linn’s 40th year, the Limited Edition Sondek LP12 turntable (just 40 of them obviously) comes encased in solid oak taken from Highland Park whisky casks. So now your music listening experience can sound, smell, and taste exquisite all at the same time.

I have no idea on price, but I’m expecting it to be in the realms of multiple arms and legs. You can however register your interest for 1 of the 40 LP12 turntables right here. For the rest of us however, we’ll just have to make do with scabby old Technics soaked in a watered down lager, cheap shots, and WKD marinade for the time being.

Thanks to Charly Cheeba for the heads-up. Bottom’s up!

I used to have a set of Linn isobaric speakers, they were phenomenal. I’m pretty sure my brother still has them actually, heaviest speakers I ever did feel.

If you have to ask how much, you can’t afford it.

  • My old SL1200s actually were soaked in alcohol. They came from a club that had replaced them after a particularly rough night, and I spent hours removing bits of broken glass from the inner workings!
As for price of the above Linn deck, from what I can find online the included parts are as follows:
    Deck £2000
    Cart £2960
    Arm £3700
    Sub chassis/Arm board £2450
    PSU/motor £2800
    Phono stage £2350
Total = £16,260 please Sir. (although the ex cask wood is probably extra too!)

I think we can all agree that audiophiles are a bit mental.
