Here we are dear valued readers and casual-just-stopping-by-to-try-to-win-some-free-stuff-never-to-return lurkers — it’s the 12th Day of Worxmas, and bugger me if it isn’t just the best DJ giveaway you’re likely to witness for a long time. Well… 12 months anyway… ![]()
The last 3 days have a definite NI theme to them. This is part coincidence and part puppy-eyed arm twisting on my part (as far as day 10 was concerned anyway), but today’s final parting gift is an absolute corker, made up of all the things you’ve come to expect from Worxmas. Chokka full of nextlevelness, this package gives you the latest and ultimate DJ experience for Traktor.
Top of the pile is NI’s amazingly well received Traktor Kontrol Z2 mixer. And controller. It’s whatever you want it to be – a cracking 2 channel scratch mixer with additional Remix Deck and sample control, or more standalone controllerist style. Check out Chris Cartledge’s recent Z2 review, and keep an eye out for my followup review in the New Year.
This particular bundle allows you to choose your style, because the Z2 comes with the full Traktor Scratch package. But bolted on the are a pair of NI’s diminutive controllers – the X1 and F1 give access to the extended FX, loop and Remix Deck controls, and placed at the side of the Z2 gives you a real powerhouse for turntablist and controllerist performances. Yes it all sounds very marketing-speak, but the coherence of this package and the way NI have designed it all to work together is very compelling.
Our very good buddies at Vestax UK have really stepped up for this final day as well with an extended bunch of Neo d+ cables. Not only are there 3 USB cables (one for each unit), but included are 2 pairs of RCAs should you choose to plug in turntables or CDJs. That’s not all – my friends at Decksavers have got together a cover for each. The Z2 cover isn’t even out yet, but we have one to top of this set (it’s not in the picture though). And this is a good excuse to play my favourite video – part ad, part review, this I feel is how review videos should be done, and will most definitely set the tone for future work.
So for the last time in the 12 Days of Worxmas 2012, this is what you have to do to have a chance of winning:
- To enter, simply leave a logged in comment via a Disqus, Facebook, Twitter or Google+ account. Leave the comment here and here only. I need to be able to contact you if you win, so guest comments will be not be considered, nor will comments made in Facebook, Twitter or Google+. Basically, if your name appears in Orange against the comment, you’ve done it right.
- You can enter any number of days or all of them. But you must leave a comment for each prize you’d like a chance of winning.
- These will run until the proper 12th day of Christmas (5th January), at which point I’ll pick the winners and get the prizes off ASAP.
Clear? Good. It would be also be very nice if you followed us on Twitter, liked our Facebook page and subscribed to the once in a while newsletter. I also added a Google+ DJWORX community as well.
And remember – DJWORX is for life, not just for Worxmas. Keep coming back, even when this is over.
